Gareth Pugh retrospect

British fashion designer Gareth Pugh is celebrating his label´s 10th anniversary and return to London Fashion Week with retrospective exhibition in Covent Garden, at Galeria Melissa.
Gareth Pugh has collaborated with Brazilian plastic shoes label Melissa for years. The result of his collaboration – mostly monochrome shoes and boots in peculiar shapes – is displayed paired with a selection of his “modern armour” wearable artefact clothing pieces. Using most diverse materials from leather, to PVC, plastic, metal, fur, cashmere and so on…

His conceptual theatric design, creative beyond imagination, blurres lines between high fashion and art. A mix between dramatism of early Lee McQueen and overwhelming Leigh Bowery style in monochrome.
Gareth Pugh has worked with some of the world’s most innovative artists and respected institutions, and recently returned to the world of theatre and dance. He has also worked with some of the most popular artists of today, including Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
As his latest show at V&A proved, large peculiar shapes are ever present in his latest collection.
Exhibition is open till Friday 29th of May.

Melissa shoes have collaborated with a number of fashion designers, Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld to name a few. My personal favourites in store are upside down heel shoes from Karl Lagerfeld collaboration.
